Modification of Weight Lifting Routine

From my own personal experience in the real world I see no real reason to switch up weight training routines a lot, other than what Sean pointed out, psychologically.In my twenties I used to fish lobster, and all I did for 8 hours a day was pull heavy soaked lobster traps aboard the boat; in choppy water a lot of days. Then once lobster was taken out, it was pushed back into the water straight out about five feet. It was the BIGGEST I ever got (so far…). We didn’t sit around trying out different ways to “confuse” the muscles… we went out did our job, worked hard, and were solid as a rock by the end of the season.
