Is the Oscar Fish a Good Choice for Your Aquarium?
March 8, 2010 11:51 am Home and FamilyIf you are considering adding an oscar to your aquarium, there are several things to think about. An oscar fish is very hardy and can thrive in many different water conditions, which other fish would not tolerate. This is one of the reasons they are popular. However, they will eat smaller fish, so they should not be kept in a community of little tank mates. Although you can buy oscars when they are small, they can grow to be over 12 inches long and would require at least a 55-gallon tank. They eat live food, pellets, and flakes, but look their best when the get live food regularly.
