The Power of the Priesthood
December 7, 2009 3:36 am ReferenceMormon Doctrine teaches that the power of the priesthood is the authority to act in God’s name. The priesthood was lost in the Great Apostasy (the time of falling away from the truths of the Gospel after all the apostles were killed or died) and thus so was the authority to act in God’s name. When the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored in this dispensation, so was the authority to act in God’s name. By the power of the priesthood, Mormon Doctrine teaches, God can intervene for good in the lives of His children through worthy male members who are on the earth today.
