A special punching bag

A punching bag is also called a “focus bag”. These are usually lightweight, often anchored to floor and ceiling with elastic or semi-elastic materials. Such types facilitate mobility and accuracy on a moving target. In boxing training punching bags, called “maize bags”, are used which improves athlete’s head motion so as to evade the opponent’s punch. These bags are traditionally filled with maize. For powerful body punches, a heavy punching bag which is larger and cylindrical in shape and generally suspended by chains is used. Normally in boxing practice sessions, such bags are used to measure the force of the impact of a punch.
